24th Annual Gathering of Quilts
The wonderful textile talents of quilters of all ages are celebrated in this age-old craft. Visitors from the tri-state region attend this annual show, which will be featured in the Beal Grand Corridor and Shrode Art Center and include approximately 25 quilts representing the region's finest quilters. Juried members of the Cedarhurst Quilters, among other regional quilters, will participate. A bed turning program will be held in August 2013 in the Beal Grand Corridor. The Cedarhurst Quilters will dress a bed by placing approximately 20 quilts on top of one another. A speech on the history of quilts and how they are made is given before volunteers begin turning the bed. Each quilt is held up whilte the personal story and history is told.
