For 24 rewarding years the communities of Cedarhurst have enjoyed seeing the creative work from the university’s students, faculty, and staff.  The exhibition was started in 1993 by Daniel Overturf, Professor of Photography, SIUC.

Overturf has continued to be the inspiration and drive behind this exhibition, and we thank him.  We also thank Professors of Photography Alison Smith and Antonio Martinez for their art and support.

This long-running exhibition has been exemplar in showcasing some of the innovative thinking being nurtured at SIUC.  Students are encouraged to take creative and conceptual risks and it shows in their work.  Alongside these young artists is the work of their veteran professors who establish the lead in forward thinking.
