The Happening program aims to engage young adults with unique events that explore contemporary art. Events are held quarterly and planned in a short time period in order to address topics and offer programs and entertainment that are relevant today. Happening events are casual and draw visitors from over 60 miles to enjoy culture, music, and conversation at Cedarhurst.

Annual events include Blues & Brews and The Oktoberfest Sculpture Walk. A variety of other events are scheduled throughout the year.

Big George Brock, also known as “King of the St. Louis Blues,” has been making his mark in the blues industry for nearly 70 years. A Mississippi native, Big George Brock spent his youth sharecropping, playing his harmonica, and traveling with blues legend Muddy Waters.

Since migrating to St. Louis in 1949, he has played with many other blues icons including Albert King, Little Milton and Jimmy Reed. Big George Brock also travels regularly back to Clarksdale, MS, to perform, with his nephew James “Super Chikan” Johnson, who headlined Cedarhurst’s Blues and Brews festival in 2016.

Gates open at 6pm. Tickets are $5 for Cedarhurst members and $10 for non-members. Must be 18 to attend. Click here to join our Facebook Event.
