Full Time Housekeeping/Event Staff Member:

Cedarhurst Center for the Arts is currently accepting applications for a custodial/event staff team member. Responsibilities include the day to day cleaning of Cedarhurst facilities and providing an exceptional visitor experience to our guests during events. This is a full time position with benefits including health and dental insurance, retirement contribution, paid time off and more. This position does require some evening and weekend hours. Applications are available at the reception desk in the Mitchell Museum building at Cedarhurst, Tuesday - Saturday 10 am to 5 pm and Sunday 1 to 5 pm. Summer Employment Opportunity for a Graduating High School Senior

DESCRIPTION:
Cedarhurst Center for the Arts (Mt. Vernon, Illinois) is looking for a high school graduating senior who can serve as a part-time Summer Assistant to the Director of Cedarhurst’s Shrode Art Center 

COMPENSATION: 
$11/hour | up to 25 hours/week

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Applicant must be a high school senior graduating in 2021,
  • Applicant must have been enrolled in art courses during their high school tenure

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with Exhibitions: accept and catalogue competition entries; set up and break down exhibits; create labels; etc. 
  • Manage Clay Room activities: Reclaim clay; track inventory; prep, load, and unload kilns; glaze and prep student artwork for firing, etc.
  • Prepare art materials for lessons, classes and activities. (After School Program, Summer Camp, Thursday Night Live, Family Days and Special Events)
  • Assist summer camp teachers with lesson administration, material preparation, and assists students with their projects as needed
  • Organize Shrode Art Center (SAC) Supply Closet and track inventory
  • Promptly and cheerfully greets visitors and serve as an information resource to guests
  • Assist SAC Administrative Assistant with clerical work; mailings; and payments; as needed

  • ** Cedarhurst has received a one-time grant from the Illinois Arts Council to fund this part-time position.


SUMMER EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY FOR A GRADUATING HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR

DESCRIPTION:
Cedarhurst Center for the Arts (Mt. Vernon, Illinois) is looking for a high school graduating senior who can serve as Front Desk Receptionist and administrative assistant.

COMPENSATION: 
$11/hour | up to 25 hours/week

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Applicant must be a high school senior graduating in 2021,
  • Applicant must have outstanding customer service and organizational skills

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Staff reception desk: promptly and cheerfully greets visitors and serve as an information resource to guests 
  • Assist with Exhibitions: accept and catalogue competition entries; set up and break down exhibits; create labels; etc.
  • Answer phones and assist with class registrations and program payment
  • Prepare materials for membership events, rental inquiries, and special events
  • Organize supply closets and track inventory
  • Assist Administrative Assistants with clerical work; mailings; and payments; as needed.
